Executive Desk:

Effective Leaders are Effective Managers, Too

Managers have to get things done through others. The manager is supposed to plan, organize, coordinate, and control.

Inventor of the UroCycler® Bladder Management System Awarded the 2002 Laufman-Greatbatch Prize

-

Dr. David Flinchbaugh, inventor of the UroCycler® bladder management system, has been named the recipient of the 2002 Laufman-Greatbatch Prize, an award given annually by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Foundation. In addition to the Laufman-Greatbatch Prize, Dr. Flinchbaugh also received Florida's 2002 "Governor's New Product Award" for The UroCycler.
The UroCycler is a device that helps restore the urinary bladder's normal function in the face of an indwelling catheter challenge. The UroCycler has been reported to be the first major breakthrough in new product development in the urinary catheter field in 70 years. The UroCycler addresses problems, such as urinary tract infections, bladder deconditioning, incontinence, struvite crystal formation, and bladder spasms, which affect millions of people worldwide who require indwelling catheters.
