Foley Catheter Holder Secures Without Tape or Discomfort
Dale Medical Products, Inc., introduces a patented Foley catheter holder that stabilizes the indwelling catheter, helps reduce metal irritation without restricting patient movement, and meets Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses (WOCN) Society guidelines for securing catheters.
The Dale Foley Catheter Holder features a green Velcro® locking device with two interlocking tabs that anchor the catheter and a soft, supple, 2”-wide leg band that stretches without narrowing to avoid the tourniquet effect. It is designed to secure the catheter anywhere along the tube or at the “Y” port. Simple to rotate, put on, and take off, the device’s inter-locking tabs attach to the leg band and facilitate catheter traction. Eliminating the problems associated with tape and the need for shaving the patient, this latex-free holder will not irritate the skin. One size fits most adults and children comfortably, and a bariatric size is also offered.
The holders are priced at $3.45 each (suggested list) and individually packaged 10 per box. Free samples are available upon request.

Brushless, Waterless Scrub Meets or Exceeds Surgical Requirements
GOJO Industries, a long-time innovator in hygiene and skin care products for the healthcare industry, introduces PURELL® Surgical Scrub with Moisturizers, a formula that is silky-smooth, nonstick, and quick-drying to allow for easy gloving to get nurses and surgeons into the operating room more quickly.
Using no chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and as few as two applications of 2 mL of PURELL Surgical Scrub, this formula meets or exceeds the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements for a surgical scrub, including six hours of persistent antimicrobial activity. In addition, the formula is mild, does not irritate, and contains five skin-conditioning agents to help maintain healthy skin. Further, the formula is compatible with latex, neoprene, and polyisoprene surgical gloves.
PURELL Surgical Scrub is available in the new PURELL TFXTM Touch Free Dispensing System and Foot Pump Dispensers. Both of these state-of-the-art systems use a 1200-mL, sanitary-sealed refill to provide more scrubs than traditional dispensing bottles. Doctors Applaud New Sock for Diabetic Foot Care
EuroSocks North America, a top producer of sport-specific performance and compression socks, introduces Euros Rx® for Diabetics. Developed in collaboration with a team of physicians, the patent-pending dual-tone technology design is available in white and dark dress sock colors but preserves the patented white sock bottom to allow patients with diabetes to easily monitor the condition of their feet.
“Beyond the typical drugstore variety of diabetic socks, the Euros Rx for diabetics really works with how people live,” says Dr. Richard Reuter, a diabetic foot and ankle specialist. “No one wants to wear white socks every day, even though doctors like myself prefer them for people with diabetes. Now, with a dark top and white bottom, the socks are more attractive to patients for consistent—rather than occasional—use.”
The constriction-free Euros Rx for Diabetics socks feature woven arch support, a mild ankle brace, a padded terry sole, and a flat-knit toe seam. A patented dual-tone technology white bottom design enables easy detection of wound drainage or bleeding.
Euros Rx and Euros Rx for Diabetics are currently available through podiatrists’ and vascular surgeons’ offices.
