       HEALTHPOINT®, Ltd. announces the creation of an educational program for 2003 in association with PharMerica, a subsidiary of AmerisourceBergen Corporation and one of the long-term care industry's leading providers of pharmaceutical services to nursing home residents.
       Working together, HEALTHPOINT and PharMerica will provide a comprehensive national educational program for physicians, nurses, and consulting pharmacists to promote the understanding and practice of advanced wound care. The joint educational initiative represents a commitment by both companies to improve the clinical knowledge and expertise related to wound management in the long-term care setting. Eight educational programs are planned nationwide.
       "Our partnership with PharMerica strengthens each company's desire to continuously provide educational programs that will meet the needs of all customers in the wound care community," said HEALTHPOINT Healthcare Systems Director, Danny Joyner. The comprehensive educational program will award 1.0 continuing education hour to attendees.
       "The continued professional development of long-term care practitioners is important to PharMerica as we strive to ensure they have all the necessary tools to be effective providers in caring for the frail and elderly," explained Rob Godwin, PharMerica's National Director of Clinical Program Development. "Our alliance with HEALTHPOINT will help us meet this goal by promoting safe and effective wound care to long-term care facilities across the country."
