Coloplast Launches First of its Kind Intermittent Catheter

Coloplast Corp. announces the launch of SpeediCath(TM), the first ready-to-use hydrophilic intermittent catheter on the market. This ready-to-use hydrophilic-coated catheter comes immersed in sterile saline solution, eliminating the need to apply lubricant and minimizing preparation. There's no need to carry messy gels or locate clean water for hydration.
The polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) coating used in SpeediCath provides optimal urethra protection during catheterization by significantly reducing friction and helping prevent the risk of infection. Other features of SpeediCath include user-friendly packaging that is not only compact and discreet but also easy to handle--suitable for individuals with limited dexterity. In addition, SpeediCath is optimally rigid but flexible enough for easy insertion.
